Store updates: We will be having a birthday party at the store for Jamie (Mary’s husband) on August 20 from 12-4pm. Refreshments and cake of course! Jamie is recovering very well from his surgery so thank you to all who sent prayers and positive vibes his way.
Walk the Beat is also on August 20 and we are a music venue this year so there will also be live music that day!
Also we will be doing a community art project again. Updates to come soon!
Eastend Pickers will be moved permanently to the Fat Chix store parking lot for Saturday July 16 and the rest of 2016. We will have plenty of space and parking along the road. We just don’t have enough people to fill up Bolt Park at this time.
If you are interested in selling at Eastend Pickers, all you have to do is bring your own table and set up! There is no fee. It’s FREE! It’s very important that you bring your own table as we will not have extras. If you do not have a table, Redi Rental across the street has them to rent.
We are planning to have Eastend Pickers the first and third Saturday of the month from August – October 8:30 am to 2 pm . Eastend Pickers is all about the used, old, vintage and antique.
Vendor space available. We have 25 spots at approx 10’ X 10’
Vendors may sell thrift/vintage/antique, craft, produce and art.
Sale is the 2nd Saturday of each month April – October from 8am – 4pm
Location: Fat Chix, Electric Hero and Erickson’s parking lot.
Email us or call 846-7480 to reserve a spot or if you need more details. Calling or stopping into the store is preferred as you will get a faster response. We’re oldschool like that.
Please make checks payable to Eastown Association.
We will be having an open house at Fat Chix and Templeton’s Treasures on Saturday November 14 from 10-2pm. Refreshments, drawings and take home a Thanksgiving pumpkin centerpiece for every $15 you spend. Find unique vintage and one-of-a-kind items at Templeton’s and shop Fat Chix to get a head start on your holiday shopping.
Come get your corn husk wreaths before they are gone! We will be limited on wreaths this year due to a lower corn crop from our source.
Wreaths are $18 and swags are $9 apiece. Swags looks great horizontal or vertical. We can tie the bow up anyway you like.
Also, keep a look out for the Catwalk Pumpkins showing up at Pfaff’s Pharmacy, Righteous Cuisine and other places around town. Our goal is to move all of our pumpkins this week so if you haven’t picked one up yet, please help out and stop by!
Pumpkins are $5 each and all proceeds benefit the Catwalk Restoration Project in Grand Haven.
A pie and pumpkin fundraiser will be held next week on Thursday, September 17 from 7am to 7pm at the Aluminum Mule/Templeton’s. Proceeds go to the Grand Haven Pier Catwalk Project.
Buy a pumpkin anytime during the day for $5.00 each. Pumpkins will be painted with a cat face (get it? Cat Walk?:), or buy a pie for $10.00 to take home.
Additionally, we will be serving slices of pie with coffee from 5:30-7pm for a donation. Our goal is $2,500.00. Checks may be made out to: City of Grand Haven, memo – Catwalk Repair.
Thank you for all your support and we hope to see a good turnout next Thursday!
The “Fat Chix Collection” (as we like to call it now) has gone through a lot of change in the past few months. The Aluminum Mule now has five owners and has been renamed Templeton’s. Mary is still 1/5 of the owners so some of her things are in the store but Templeton’s features more vintage items now. The store is constantly being stocked with new and interesting things so make sure to stop by regularly if you are a vintage shopper. You never know what you might find! Templeton’s will actually be opened a few nights during the week.
Templeton’s new store hours:
M – 5-7:30 pm
T – 1-5 pm
W – 9-5 pm
Th – 5-7:30 pm
Fri- 9-5 pm
Sat – 6:15 am -2 pm
Sun – Closed
Meanwhile across the street…
As many of you know, Mary (along with her business partner Marcy) has been working hard at the new “Fat Chix” location in the back apartment of the “Lizard House.” Mary named this spot Zophia’s but of course…we all still call it “Fat Chix.” Coffee will EVENTUALLY be moved over and served at the new location sometime this fall. Some more plumbing has to be finished, but Mary’s goal is to have a small coffee bar in there eventually for espresso.
Outside of the new location is the brightly painted blue and orange shed Mary calls “Marigold’s.” Inside this shed is local-made maple syrup, honey and all kinds of other cool “outdoorsy” items. If you haven’t peeked in there you need to! The front of the “Lizard House” will eventually feature garden items fo
r sale and other outdoor artwork next Spring.
For all of the candle fans, we will be getting in our usual stock of Woodwick, Bridgewater and Lakeshore scents by the end of September.
AUGUST 31 – FALL WREATHS, PAINTED PUMPKINS AND MUMS
Our annual fall decorations will be coming in starting August 31.
SEPTEMBER 17 PIE & COFFEE FUNDRAISER
From 5:30-7:30 we will be hosting a pie and coffee fundraiser. Stop by the Templeton’s parking lot and have a slice of home-made pie or purchase a whole pie to take home. Donate what you are able to. Money raised from this will go towards the materials needed for our next fundraiser helping the Grand Haven pier/catwalk that needs a lot of TLC and a lot of money to help restore it. Details on that fundraiser to come later.
Fundraiser this Thursday!
5:30 to 7pm. Pulled pork, coleslaw, baked beans and potato salad = Yum!
Fundraising goal: lighting for winter lampposts along Beechtree Street.
It looks like it’s going to be a nice day so we will be set up in our usual spot out front of Fat Chix/Aluminum Mule on Beechtree st.
We were not able to hold our June fundraiser so the more the merrier! Please help spread the word:)
